City of Beijing is under alert since the begining of the week because of a virus which appeared in Province of Anhui in March and which is now touching people in Beijing.

Yesterday I told you that calm was back on the torch relay since San Francisco, but today in New Delhi, events from militants was back again.
In spite of 16 000 policemen, the race in town finished after only 30 minutes with around 200 arrests of militants too excited or violent.

St. Petersburg is ready for the arrival of the Beijing Olympic Torch Relay, said the president of St. Petersburg’s sport committee at a press conference on April 1.
The Torch Relay will kick off at 10:30 a.m. local time on April 5 and travel a distance of20.4 km. The route will pass through St. Petersburg’s city center before reaching its final stop at the Winter Palace, which is located on the bank of the Neva River. Read the rest of this entry »

The Chinese ambassador to Turkey, Sun Guoxiang, was the 40th torchbearer during the torch relay in Turkey’s largest city of Istanbul on Wednesday.
After he ran from the middle of the Eurasia Bridge for a distance of 200m, he proudly gave voice to his pride by stating that he is the first Chinese torchbearer to run from Europe to Asia.

The Beijing Olympic torch relay in Istanbul concluded here on Thursday as the last of the 80 torchbearers arrived at the destination of Taksim Square in Istanbul’s downtown and lit the cauldron.
The last torchbearer Taner Sagir, a rare weighlifting talent who seized the gold medal of the 77-kg category in the Athen Olympics and became the youngest Olympic champion in the weightlifting history, ran onto the square in the New City in Istanbul’s European part amid loud clapping and cheers.
