The arbitration court of the sport confirmed today the sanction taken against the American sprinter Justin Gatlin, concerning the four year old suspension for doping which he incurred.
The american will have to stop his dream of Beijing and this at three weeks of the beginning of the American athletics selections.
The Court specified that the date of the beginning of the suspension had been fixed at July 25, 2006, dates where Gatlin had accepted a temporary suspension.
From now, the American runner don’t have any justice recourse and he is forced to accept the decision. It will have to wait the end of its suspension i.e. in 2010, before being able to restart runs at the time of an unspecified compétion when it is 28 years old…

Yesterday the International Olympic Committee (IOC) revealed its list of the candidates cities to organise the 2016 summer Olympic Games.
The selected cities are:
- Chicago (United States)
- Madrid (Spain)
- Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)
- Tokyo (Japan)
These four cities was selected betwenn 7 candidates. In addition to the 4 cities selected, Bakou (Azerbaïdjan), Doha (Qatar) and Prague (Czech republic) were not selected by the commission.

It is known that safety during Beijing Games is one of the Chinese primary goals, especially after the rumours of terrorist attacks which weigh on the country.
On this subject, in order to not run any risk, 160 tracker dogs specialized in the explosives detection are awaited in Beijing to reinforce a local team of 44 other dogs.
After one month of intensive drive to target detection suspect or illicit things, all the dogs will be in services on competition sites, logistics centers, airports and residences.

Yesterday, the Chinese authorities drew up the list of all the things prohibited during the Olympic Games of Beijing. This list aims obviously the foreign visitors who will be in China to follow the competitions.
After drugs, weapons, ammunition, which are already forbidden in all the countries, the objects with aimed pornographic, as well as the public demonstrations and gatherings are prohibited if they did not have the authorization necessary.
Moreover any object or demonstration concerning Tibet or bearing reached in China will be sanctioned heavily and no authorizations will n be delivered in this kind of case.

Usain Bolt, a 21 years old jamaican runner, beat last Saturday in New York City the 100 meters race world record with 9″72 seconds. He dethroned his compatriot Asafa Powell who had carried out 9″74 seconds in Italy last September.
Saturday, the race profited from a wind of 1,7 meter/second old back but with difficult climatic conditions and rains.

The information is not official but that already starts to buzz on the Web : Leona Lewis, the British singer, could be present at the olympic closing ceremony in Beijing and to perform by the same occasion.

The current Olympic champion on 100m race, Justin Gatlin, will know the next week if he will be able to be qualified to defend his Olympic title in Beijing this summer.
After two days of audience in New York, the Arbitration Court of Sport will return its decision on next June 6.
Let us point out the request for runner : Justin Gatlin asked the Court not to impose him a suspension of more than two years for doping in 2006.

Yesterday, the chinese capital recorded a pollution peak of level 5, (maximum level), which pushed the local authorities to require of the inhabitants not to go out if they had respiratory problems.

Some giants pandas, which are protected animals in China, were brought in Beijing by plane to be placed in the Beijing Zoo during the next Olympic Games.
The eight pandas, come from search and protection pandas center of Wolong, siting about 20 miles from the last may 12th earthquake center. Pandas was a little nervous after the earthquake, but Wolong Center director said that the eight animals are cured and in good health.
